Polyamory

There must be something wrong with it but....

Fine in theory. But how often does it actually work...? pe ps oid ... What is "The Art of Tea"? ... (www.pepsoid.wordpress.com)

The All New Pepsoid the Second!

Heh heh heh... what's good for the goose is sometimes NOT good for the gander. I wish it *did* work better, as my tendencies are *ahem* not toward the monogamous. But people don't like to share their toys, alas...
Reading today about C Day Lewis now there is an emotional train wreck, forgiven by so many because he is brilliant beautiful and charismatic.I think my muse who has all the above qualties is naturally poly but hasn't put it quite in those terms yet for himself or anyone else. I ask because monogamy suits society but possibly not people who these days live quite a long time.

"Hmm, I tried it and it didn't work for me. Probably something to do with leaving out the 'full knowledge and consent' part..." Sheesh. Why do all the good ideas get undermined by the small print?
It wasn't the 'small' print that undermined it...
It can't be as good as "Balamory". http://naptime500.blogspot.com
What's the story with Balamory?
It doesn't work because there's something within us which craves for exclusivity. In Islamic circles polygamy sometimes works after a fashion; if women are barred from developing their own career/family and are dependent upon male provision then a woman might accepting sharing a good provider, but to me it's a sick parody of love forced by a warped societal norm. The only times it seems to work in the west is where there is no competition due to one person having differing sets of needs which can't be met in one partner, most obviously a bisexual with both a male and female partner. There are also people in the spanking/BDSM world who have a "vanilla" partner and a "kinky" partner, I realise some people will think that's a sicker parody still, maybe it's born of compromise with aspects of a partner you'd rather weren't there but are tolerable.
But what of the concept of human hives...?? (like bee hives, not those kinds of hives... :/...) pe ps oid ... What is "The Art of Tea"? ... (www.pepsoid.wordpress.com)

But if one leaves out sex. Is loving a friend polyamorous? And what about brilliant people, not me I might add, but there are some people who are truly great. For them finding everything in one person is unlikely if not impossible. We have been boxed in by religion. How much is what we have learned how much is truly innate?
