Cade Series

I don't like trad-fantasy much either, but this is well written, with a crafty opening gambit and a neat, controlled voice, only occasionally overwritten. Far too many cliches for my liking though - the hero's enchanted sword, his emerald heirloom, his faithful beast (is it He-Man?) plus the elf-like long-living pseudo-angel race, whose representatives here are a young, impetuous one and an old, wise one. And a prophecy to boot! I can't help feeling your skills would be better put to use tackling a different genre, or making something fresh of this hackneyed stuff. ~ I'll Show You Tyrants * Fuselit * The Prowl Log * Woe's Woe
