His pieces (often literally the tiniest of pieces) are utter nonsense, and yet¦ somehow¦ not. He is either an undiscovered, perhap misunderstood genius or he is taking the piss. Either way¦ I am a fan!
His work is not flawless ' far from it; there are technical errors a-plenty - but I like the place he is coming from (it could be a stoned-off-his-face place or a permanently-pissed place, but I like it). I have taken the trouble to jot down some of my favourite lines (with the pieces they are from in brackets)¦
------------------------------------------------
Arm chairs were never very aware that they were not invented for fighting. ("Chair Wars")
the bag contained nothing but sweet air harvested from the filters of tumble dryers ("Columns of light and day")
Tearing up his rule book he had written the night before he set about a dastardly plot to get the most out of a plate of beans. ("It happened quite naturally")
Mounds of joy piled up on top of happy moments. ("One said to the other")
The moment was lost to all but a blue butterfly that just managed to peep over the top of a petal and see the red disappear into itself in a beautiful swirl that would be lost forever. ("Tales from the hard shoulder")¦ like, far out, man!
------------------------------------------------
Of all the pieces, the one that seems more clearly than the others to make some kind of sense is "Falling stars. My personal favourite, though, is "I arrived with a soul ' beautiful¦ surreal¦ melancholy¦
Check this guy out!
