I am writing this poem in May
so don't believe me when I say
that November days are as short
as a stranger's handshake,
cold as bad phone manners.
All I know is that outside
the breeze carries stars
of dandelion like silver mosquitos
that would rather tickle you to giggles
than drink your blood.
