And behind us

You said the sound
of my violin
reminded you of
the craters
on the moon
from your Uncle's
telescope
you gazed through
as a
child.
I didn't have the heart to tell
you
I made the melody up
on the spot
could
never play it
the same way again.
You
joined in
on the harp, three times
your
size
Your fingers so nimble
melted like
chocolate
as they touched the strings.
You
sang in a language
I had never heard before
your
voice so sweet
made the sound a cloud makes
when it
touches another.
What spoiled it for
you
but to me made more perfect
as we
played
my grandad
was behind us
like
Animal
on the drums.
