Well hello, good evening, and bad luck Jack.
You missed your turning somewhere back.
So give me your coat and lend me your ear.
'Cos there's only one road out of here.
Go Right on through and nobody gives a toss,
but stop and your theirs up in Dead Mans Cross
If this is God's honest truth don't believe a word at all,
and when you walk into a pub keep your back against the wall.
And loose that attitude, and forget about your pride,
'cos everyone's looking to take a piece of your hide.
And don't talk out of turn, and remember who's the boss,
and you don't eyeball no one up in Dead Mans Cross
Well Lucy used to be a runaway, but now she's just a whore
pleading with her man to strech her a little more.
He's getting his kicks shooting pistols in the dark,
and he cut the tongue out of that dog so it won't warn you with a
bark.
And he'll only keep her on till the day she turns a loss.
'Cos no one carries no one up in Dead Mans Cross
They'll always get some trouble, but they never call the law.
Just take it outside, and mop the blood up off the floor.
And whatever happens you don't make a sound,
'cos these boys don't stop kicking when a man goes down.
You can buy anything you want but you'd better watch the cost.
They'll take all they can get up in Dead Mans Cross.
So take my advice and be on your way
If you aint got the nerve to leave you -sure as hell- aint got the
nerve to stay.
Reach Black Cat by dawn and you should be alright
but keep to the path walking the road at night
And trust me Jack, you don't want to get lost
'cos there aint nowhere else better, nearby to Dead Mans Cross
