Brothers

There are those times where you just want to escape. Escape to somewhere new. Discover some things. You know what I mean. Well, a few tothers and I had the expedition that no one else would in their entire lives, and, man, is it a story worth telling.
The story happened in a peaceful neighborhood in Waldorf, Maryland. It was 'bout five o' clock- maybe later- and I was lying on my bed listening to some country music. As I was listening and reading a book- I forgot which, the doorbell rang. My sister ran real fast to answer it, so I had no reaction time. It was one of my friends asking if I was there- I could tell by his voice saying hi to the runaway dog that followed my sister, followed by my mom running after the dog.
Johnny Hughes, the name of my friend, then said, "Alenn, take me and Bobby out to that dirt hill you took me to a while back." Well, hello to you too, Johnny. Hello to you too.
I knew where he was going like the question two plus two. In the sixth grade, I, along with a paranoid little friend of mine, first discovered the hill, where we escaped a landslide. It was a little while later that I took Johnny.
Johnny was about the same height as I was- about five foot nine- at that time. He also was about as skinny as I was, except he had his glasses longer than I did. You could easily tell that Johnny lived in Maryland for some time by his accent and poseur-like personality. His eyes were about as blue as the sky, and the sky at that time was pretty blue. He also was wearing a blue shirt with blue flames on the bottom. His hair was- and hopefully still is- a brown color.
As I wasted my time looking for shoes that were in my room, as I was soon to discover, I thought, 'Should I tell my mom about this? Nah....... I'll tell her later.' I walked out the door, only to see Bobby standing outside, trying to hide behind one of the trees that lined the sidewalk. Johnny and I could easily see him.
Bobby was about six feet about the time. Six feet of hatred, deception, and despair. All he did was try to mess my life up, and for a stupid reason- because I was "too nice". Well, anyways, he was a redhead (The only redhead I have something against). He had the Southerner accent. His eyes were brown like dirt, and he too had glasses.
We, as in Johnny and I, played along with Bobby, and walked to the right, therefore exiting the court, and we were "surprised" to see Bobby joining us after we "found" him. He, apparently, had the mind of a five year old, trying to play hide and seek. Or could it be that he didn't want me to know he was with Johnny?
We then trekked into the woods, which was about two courts away, while Johnny was making crude, sexual jokes, and Bobby, being the pervert he is, was laughing at them. I just ignored them and kept on walking.
The woods were barren, and very few leaves were hanging from the trees overhead, so the sun was touching our hair. We were hit with a few thorns, but all were minor scratches. We then came across a creek, which, unlike the past times I was there, was completely full with water. It was too big for one person to cross- not even me, the tallest person in my family. "It wasn't that full before.." I said, then realizing that it rained the day before. "We're going to have to walk through it." Bobby said. "Ya think?" Johnny and I added.
It was my turn first. I had raised my shorts and walked through the knee-deep water, feeling dirt and pollution hit my knees. After three steps, I had reached the end, and it was Johnny's turn, then Bobby's. As we were walking, Bobby recognized something on my legs (why he was looking at my legs I don't wanna know). He said, "Alenn, there's something on your legs."
I then replied, bitterly, "Bobby, they call it hair. You may have it too."
"Alenn, don't get smart with me. Look." I then looked and saw something that wasn't hair. It, I mean, they, were leeches. There were about a dozen of them, all feeding on my scarce blood. I then freaked out, and then started shaking them off. About seven of the twelve leeches came off when Johnny realized that he had about ten of them. The adventure then became one were Johnny and I literally shook it, trying to get the leeches off. There were a few cuts from where the leeches fed, but we then moved on. "Have fun, you two?" asked Bobby, meaning to make fun of me. He then added a laugh as Johnny and I gave him a half-eye look. We then finished the trek in the woods, where we saw another unfamiliar thing. Where the old hill stood was a beatiful new part of the neighborhood. "This is awesome," Johnny and I said in amazement. The neighborhood was as quiet as a newly heartbroken man who had lost the girl he couldn't help but dream about. There were three roads: One straight ahead, and two on the right and left. We decided to take the one in the middle.
The houses were all brick, and there were few cars parked in the driveways. Some had American flags, some had flags with little cutesy insects decorating them.
We then saw two white people who looked like they were having the time of their lives.
One of them was riding a bicycle, and the other was rollerskating. We couldn't tell if they were boys or girls, since they were wearing helmets. Johnny made another crude and sexual joke, one that I found funny for the first time.
We then heard barking, then turned around, seeing a weird looking man with a bunch of meat-hungry dogs walking toward us. We then wondered if the dogs were rabid. The man apparently was supposed to be a cop, only with a taste for human flesh. He saw us, thinking that we were criminals at that distance, and let go of the dogs. We then realized that the dogs were running toward us, then ran the way we entered, Bobby trying to look cool and jump over a few cars. We turned and ran into another court. The dogs still saw us and were on our tail like F-15s during the Vietnamese War.
I soon realized that this neighborhood was crazy, cannibal-like, and everything else but peaceful. One of the dogs tackled me, scratching up my shorts. Johnny tried to rescue me, but ended up being tackled. As I was screaming and crying (yes, crying), Bobby ran and fended off Johnny's attacker with a kick. Bobby then left me, angry beyond control, having the crud being scratched out of my legs by a bulldog. More dogs came and this time, I was the attackee by the remaining three, all of them bulldogs and mastiffs. Johnny then yelled, "DUDE! HELP THE GUY!" Bobby then asked him "Why would I help someone I hate?"
"DO YOU WANT TO GO TO JUVI?"
"Erm....no........."
"WELL HELP THE POOR GUY!"
"Okay, okay, I guess"
Bobby then sighed, got up and we left. The trip was pretty much bland, other than the fact that Bobby learned to help his enemies and we came up with an idea on how he could avoid the leeches. I now am home and have to think about what to say about my cuts and torn up clothes.
