LIES LEAD TO GOODBYES

You can hide those odd receipts,
You can hide her phone numbers,
But there's no way you can hide,
Your uneasiness which stirs.

You can wash away her scent,
Of suffocating perfume,
But you can't conceal your stress,
When it's just us in the room.

You can throw packets away,
Thinking that you've been careful,
But you cannot lose that look,
That says you've been unfaithful.

You can clean your cheating hands,
That tore off your lover's dress,
But you don't look quite so smart,
When you're dressed in guiltiness.
