Of the multitudes that surround us,
of the thousands of blinders strapped tight;
tunneled visionaries,
gazing down
dark narrow passages,
Who has the fore thought,
the courage, and the strength,
to remove them?
To let the heart beat,
to let the soul rejoice,
To see truly,
the joys of just breathing,
of witnessing,
the sun rise,
and the sun set,
Rolling clouds,
shadows cast
in summer meadows,
reflecting off crested wave,
spraying salt mist.
O the sensation on a blustery day
and sand strewn
beach respite.
Pelicans soaring in winged formation
diving.
Surfacing,
bobbing,
on the swells,
harvesting sustenance.
My harvest,
The joy
in being witness
to this.
O, that these blinders
should never be strapped again,
Aye, Never.
