Sohya Birming sighed as he listened to his at-home-teacher try to teach him his lessons. His eyes half closed, his hand holding his head up, it went in one ear and out the other. Yawning, he nodded when Ira, his teacher, asked him if he understood what he meant. Really, he hadn't been paying attention, but he did't care. He gazed out the window, watching as other kids his age walked around and did things in the warm summer sun. He had been in a coma for a while though; he had to make up his work. Sighing, he mentally cursed the drunk driver for hitting him. 'Man this is boring,' he thought to himself. Finally, Ira began to pick up his things. For a moment the teacher just looked at him. He stared back blankly, his thoughts elsewhere. "Did you understand the lesson today Sohya?" the teacher asked softly. Sohya blinked at him for a moment, and then nodded his head slowly. Sure, he understood it. What was to understand anyway? Everything he was teaching him he could do in his sleep. "Are you sure?" Sohya nodded. "Very well then. We will continue this at the same time tomorrow." with that, the teacher turned and left the room. He heard the door to the apartment open and close. Sighing, Sohya rose from the little desk and walked into the kitchen, where he opened the refrigerator and pulled out the lemonade. Grabbing a glass from the cabinet, he filled it to the top and then tossed the empty jug casually into the trash can. Sighing, he sipped his drink, closing his eyes. He felt strange, though he wasn't sure why. In the back of the mind he felt disconnected, and it made im feel uneasy. He wasn't sure what was going on, and he wasn't sure if he really wanted to know. He didn't like the feeling, he knew that much. It made him feel as if something were about to happen.
Shaking his head, he left the kitchen and turned down a narrow hallway and opened a door on the right. He entered his room and closed the door behind him. His apartment wasn't big. No one lived there except him. Flinching, he shoved the thoughts away. He didn't want to think about what had happened.
He plopped down on his bed with another sigh and closed his eyes. "Ugh. Stupid headache." he yawned and rolled over, getting comfortable, pulling the covers up over his head, trying to ignore the light that was coming in through his window.
A sudden sharp pain echoed throughout his body, and though he tried to ignore it, it came back a second time. Then it was gone, leaving him breathing hard and confused. "What the hell...?" he whispered to himself as he took the cover off of his head and looked around the room. "What was that?"
Something was about to happen, he noticed. And whatever it was, wasn't good.
