The Harridan sighed heavily as she looked into the glass of the ominous crystal ball, seeing the young boy with sandy brown hair and sage green eyes as he migrated down the lonely sidewalk on a cool autumn evening. She narrowed her hazel eyes and formed thoughts and ideas in her head, none of which had a good outcome for the boy.
The boy’s future didn’t look bright, and she knew not to look for a happy ending, for she would find no such thing. She silently hoped that the boy would be okay, for she knew that in his heart, though cold he seemed at times, he was a good person and deserved better than what the future had planned for him.
She didn’t know why she cared at all about the outcome of such a lonely soul, but she did, and she couldn’t ignore the hope that he would make it through this terrible time. Perhaps it lied, she thought to herself, but knew it wasn’t so. With a heavy sigh, the image of the boy faded from the crystal ball, and she shook her head. “May God have mercy on his soul.”
