Cougar in the Mist

Fighting a cougar somewhere in the mist
Dead silence all around
Searching for those rubies amongst a field of blinding white
Street lights ting this clouded kingdom yellow
The moons above have no power tonight
There is only me and this beast hiding in the shadows of the blinding white
The mist; beautiful and vague
Corrupts the darkness tonight
Misleading the busy from watches
Confuses the population
But there is no population
There is only me and the cougar somewhere out in the blinding white
Two rubies formed in the distance hurled at me
Rubies staring, pearls biting, fighting
And suddenly the mist clears
The population reforms over the wine of this occasion
A sea of faces, spilt wine
Stood well back from the cougar
Gazing in the centre of the blinding white
