Chapter one- Something isn't Right
Our feet were making crunchy noises as we walked across the chipped sidewalk. Even though NY is seven years older than me, we are pretty close friends. NY appears to be sixteen, but he's actually eighteen. He is thin and slightly pale, and the kind of guy that could easily be overlooked in a crowd. His dark-brown hair was mostly hidden by his New York Yankees cap, hence his nickname. Nobody knows his real name. His favorite color is navy blue, so he was wearing navy blue sweatpants, and a bluish- gray sweatshirt. But something about him makes me feel bad for him; he was an orphan. His mom was beaten to death with a baseball bat, by a street gang leader. We walked down the sidewalk, until we came upon an apartment. We walk up three flights of stairs and knock on the door of room C-4. My Mom opens the door and greets us. We Walk inside the apartment room. Inside are 6 rooms; NY's room (we let him live with us), My room, my Mom's room, a bathroom, a living room, and a kitchen. I gaze at my expression in the mirror. I look like I'm thirteen, but I am eleven. I have always been tall for my age. I have one blue eye and one green eye. The blue one was from my mom, so I had to guess that the green one was from my dad. Brown hair with a streak of yellow and red every here and there fell to my shoulders. I had a few freckles and my nose, and in general, looked like an average thirteen year old. Suddenly, my reflection is disrupted by a swiftly moving black object. It seemed to be a crow or a bat, but she didn't know for sure. Another(or perhaps the same one?) black thing turned back and flew the other way. She looked at the ground when she realized that something was wrong. The black things left behind no shadow. She sighed and went to her room. The only thing she had to say about it was that it was small. There was a bed with dark green sheets, a closet, a dresser, a desk, and a mirror. She collapsed on the bed and fell asleep.
The dream she had was fuzzy, like it had bad connection.
A voice cries out:
"P-ea-- --lp... -o- are my o-ly --p-... Pl--s-, Lydia, Ple--e..." and the dream faded. School went by like a blur. After all, she was pondering that dream of hers. But, one question remained in her mind; was the black thing(s) and the dream related?
Chapter two- Whisperer
Even before he had that funny dream, nineteen year old Kane was having a rotten day. It sort of started when he saw his friend Geo murdered by a monster. In a dream, of course. Kane was known as The Whisperer, because of his ability to listen to Time, often resulting in jibber-jabber that gives minor details of the past or the future. But his real ability was the Scream. Sometimes, when he touched anything, he saw something in the past or the future that involves it. His discovery of his friend's murder unsettled him, so he climed onto the roof. He flicked his wrist, and a small dagger flew out into his right hand. In the moonlight, it appeared transparent. That was because it was made by the Soul of a thousand living creatures compressed into a blade. He gazed at the skyline of the distant Tokyo. Pulling on his cowl, he ran torwards the end of the rooftop and jumped. He landed on the next roof easily. Kane had been raised solely to assassinate some guy in America. He learned because he eavesdropped on his parents. So technically, he was a ninja-assassin in training. He kept on running, his short brownish-black hair rustling in his cowl. He counted all the total 'Hazards' on him. He was holding his soulblade, as he called it, a katana was strapped to his back, a .300 sniper rifle was in his backpack, a quiver filled with arrows was also on his back, along with a bow. A total of 5 'Hazards', excluding his body, his mind, and his Whispering ability. His golden eyes glistened. He made his way down to the Ocean. An unusual wave of drowsiness swept over him. Eventually, everything faded into nothing. It was black, he couldn't hear anything. Wait... That was wrong. A voice was speaking in his mind's eye.
""P-ea-- --lp... -o- are my o-ly --p-... Pl--s-, Kane, Ple--e... S-ek t-e g--l in A-er--a... The one with the blue and the green eye." It was kinda odd, like it had bad connection or something. The one with the blue and the green eye... What could that mean?
Chapter three- Fighting Evil Demonic Cyborg Sharks and other Extreme Sports
She walked slowly out of the school building, still pondering the question. She walked down several alleys and streets. She was so engrossed in her thoughts that she didn't realize that it was raining until she got to her apartment. She walked outside and stood on the edge of the balcony. She could have easily lost balance and fell at the slightest push. Thankfuly, that never happened. She became engrossed in her thoughts once again. Once she wasn't that into her thoughts, she realized, well, like they say, when it rains, it pours, but in this case, it really, really pours. The sky was blotted out by patches of the fluffy-gray incredibly-dangerous lightning-striking clouds. She was gazing up at them when her vision began to grow red. It was a couple moments before she realized that a red light was shining on her. But from where? She looked at the ground. What she saw shocked her. A black-blue shark was on the ground. Wait... Not on the ground, levitating above it. The only disturbing things were, the fact that it was staring at her, snarling, and that it had a red cyborg eye. The shark snarled. The shark gained a electric aura. Ok. That was /not/ right. Metal chunks started floating torwards the shark. They bended and twisted around the shark. Now /this/ was /really/ not right. The shark now had a flamethrower (ouch), six thin metallic legs, and in short, a desire to eat her. Was she hallucinating? Hallucinations can be powerful. But she has never hallucinated before, so it was unlikely. Tendrils of mist swept before her eyes. They lifted just as suddenly as they appeared. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary... Except for the evil demonic cyborg, nothing else. The eye of the shark started glowing. A small red dot appeared only inches next to her. It started steaming. Then a hole appeaered where there once was a red dot. Another dot appeared. On her chest. So, she did the only thing that made sense to her: she jumped.
The thing about jumping from a three-story tall balcony is that if you realize that it's a bad idea when your halfway down, it's too late for second desisions. She hit the ground and felt searing pain in both of her ankles. All she could hear was a ringing sound. All she could see was red. Once the red lifted, she looked at her ankles and instantly felt nausious. Her ankles weren't supposed tp be bent that way, were they? The shark approached. And she had no idea how to defend herself. Another figure approached. Was it yet /another/ person who wanted to hunt, hurt, or kill me?! Apparently not. But by then I realized that it was /two/ figures. One of them had brown-ish hair. It was clearly a girl, in her twenties. Her eyes were a red-brown, like embers. She had a slight tan, and looked pretty athletic. The next one was harder to describe. It was a she. She looked like she was in under ten years old. The girl had light, gray eyes, and long brown hair. She wore light-brown trousers and a blue dress. She was smiling. I had absolutely /no/ idea how she could keep that smile, even with the evil demonic cyborg shark only feet away from her. A knife appeared in the older girls hand. The younger girl still smiled. Wow. That was a little scary.
"Go Panacea! You can do it!" The smiling girl cried. So the older girl's name was Panacea? Okkkaaaaaaay... Panacea was awesome to watch. She seemed to be able to anticipate the cyborg's every move. Panacea waved her hand, and the shark fell asleep. Panacea walked over to her. The once-grumbly expression was replaced by one of mixed emotions. She could make out curiosity, and faint eagerness, but that was it. Her eyes seemed to flash. Energy surged within her. It took her a moment to realize that her ankles were no longer broken.
"Hello. I'm Panacea." The girl says. Lydia opened her mouth to speak, but was interupted.
"The Greek goddess of healing. And you, Lydia Nycro, are in great danger. So please, come with me for a moment."
Chapter four- Arrival
Hermes was quite bored. The gods were supposed to have some very important meeting here, but nobody arrived save Thor and Odin. At least they got to enjoy a conversation in norse. The floor had elegant patterns in gold, and what wasn't gold was pure white. The walls were in a similar fashion, and the ceiling was pure white with an occasional golden chandelier. A navy blue, rimmed with black portal sat at the farthest corner of the room. It began to crackle as someone stepped in... What was his name...? The falcon-headed guy... Oh! Horus! He chuckled at himself. As well as gods, a few demigods were also invited. Just like a coinsidence, Catcher and his sister, Raina, walked in. They looked like twins, except for the obvious twelve year old difference. Raina was seven while Catcher was nineteen. The main difference is that Catcher is always frowning, scowling, or emotionless while Raina never stopped beaming. Their light-grey eyes had a slight dullness, like everyone's (including him) does once they Tranhop, or teleport. The reason they probably teleported was because the entrance to the room was at the peak of Mt. Everest. While he was thinking to himself, the portal crackled and Sui- Riu stepped through. Sui- Riu was extremely smart, but not quite as smart as Athena. Sui- Riu was the draconic Japanese god of rain. This time, he was in his human form. Sui- Riu was wearing khaki pants, a navy blue t-shirt, and navy blue sneakers. Sui- Riu also had the appearance of an average 13-year old, and had an average tan. The rain god then sat in the corner, closed his eyes, and meditated. Hermes did not quite understand the word /meditate/ or /meditated/. It was basically where you sat and did nothing for hours. Who would want to do that? Several other gods stepped in. Demeter, Iris, Loki (he could have sworn that Thor glared at Loki), Thoth, and then a funny guy who was walking a wolf with red eyes, and a neon green ribbon tied around the wolf's neck. He instantly knew that the wolf's name was Fernir... The evil wolf thing. It took him a moment to realized that the person walking Garm had only one hand. Tyr! Next to the one-handed Tyr, Asclepius and Panacea walked in. They were both healing/medicine gods, so it seemed only natural that they would come together. Last time he saw them, he could have sworn that they were dating... Jamie, or Jay, for short, walked in besides Kaden, Lauren, and Michael. They all had the dull eyes that everyone gets once they... Well, you know. He smiled at Jay. After all, Jay was his daughter. Jay smiled back. Just as she finished her smile, Kane burst through the portal, huffing and puffing. It seemed like he either made his own mini portal, and closed it, or, more likely, came up here the hard way. He was wearing black clothes, and a black cowl, but it was obvious that it was Kane because of his golden eyes and a red cloth belt tied around his waist.
"I've heard that there's some type of important meeting here?" Kane says. Everyone stares at him. Including Odin and Thor, even though it seemed impossible to rouse them from their conversation. Embarrassment flooded Kane's face.
"Well... Zeus and Hera were somewhere behind me." Kane says, almost cheerfully. Another hush. As if on cue, the portal crackles as the king of the Greek gods, Zeus, steps in. Zeus doesn't look like you would suspect. First of all, he had dark grey eyes, that can change to the color blue at random moments. He had a short, grayish scruffy bead and a similar hairstyle. Today, he was wearing a navy blue tailored suit, with a red tie. Hera then steps in. She had black hair that fell all the way to her lower back. She wore a white silken dress that reached her ankles. She had lines on her face from years of worry, but also years of laughter, like she enjoyed life. Silence followed for at least fifteen minutes, giving enough time for most of the other gods (and demigods) to step through. Zeus snapped, and a bunch of chairs appeared for everyone. Everyone sat.
"Well, I believe that you have all heard all of that muttering about the Apocalypse, which is to say, the end of the worlds. All of them." Zeus says in his usual tone, which sounded slightly Australian and British. Muttering followed. Hermes could make out things like 'Now that he's mentioned it...' or 'The end of the world?' or, most likely, 'Apocalypse?!'.
"Silence!" Hades bellowed. Of course, everything fell silent.
"I know that some of the worst monsteres are being released from Tartarus, new ones are created, etc cedera, but as I have been trying to inform you... I have nothing to do with it. It is just effects of the Apocalypse. Minor ones." Hades finishes.
"Exactly. Things are happening that cannot be explained by anyone here. With one minor exeption. The Apocalypse is begginning to take place." Zeus says.
After a period of silence, Thor says;
"You mean Ragnarök?" Zeus replies;
"Similar." Thor grimaces. The room eventually bursts into conversation.
"I... I have a question..." Lysa says, raising her hand. Zeus raises his hand for silence.
"Yes, Lysa?" Zeus asks.
"Well... You know how all the different worlds and dimensions are connected? What happens in one can vastly affect the others? Like Vesuvius erupting, Amelia Earheart crashing, and- well, you get it. So, what you're saying is; that if the Apocalypse occurs in any of the dimensions, it will affect the others? And... Sorry, this is more than one question, if so, which dimension will the Apocalypse occur in? How can we prevent it? What is causing it?" Lysa says. Zeus looked down, as if he suddenly found his shoes very interesting.
"I cannot answer any of those... But it can be prevented, by a team of elite demigods... Or second generations, etc cedera." Then it was Kane's turn to dicover how interesting sandals were.
"Maybe this is NOT the time to announce that I have been having funny dreams," says Kane. Every single living being in the room turns to Kane.
"If it is possible, Kane, please explain the dreams" Kane
Describes the dreams. It was mainly about a broken voice, and a girl with a blue and a green eye.
"I know who you are talking about. In fact... An evil cyborg shark is about to devour her. Panacea and Raina, please bring her here." Hades requests.
Chapter five- Bridge of the Dimensions
Since when were Greek goddesses named 'Panacea' were allowed to walk into her apartment's miniature backyard, which is so small that it is more like a tuft of grass? Lydia had absolutely /no/ idea.
"Why do you need me to go... Wherever we're going?" She asked.
"Because... We do." the happy girl replies, /still/ beaming.
"My name is RAINA!!!!!" the cheereful one (AKA Raina) replies. As sudden as Raina made that awkward outburst, Panacea grabbed her and Raina's hand. Colors, textures, and sounds began to blur. Suddenly, everything seemed so small. And then, everything seemed so big. Once her sight returned to normal vision mode, her surroundings were different. By then, it was three times as hard to breath. She looked into the distance. She could have sworn that she saw the 'curve' of the Earth. She looked the other way and saw nothing. Exept for a navy blue swirly thing. That was rimmed with black.
"Welcome to the pinnacle of Mt. Everest," says Panacea. And I never thought that I would ever be there. Much less teleported there. Her vision was a bit blurred, however. They then step into the navy-blue vortex. After a cackling noise, what she sees shocks her. A vast sea of navy and purple surround her. There are thousands, if not, millions, of sparkling orbs surrounding her.
"Lydia, welcome to the Realm of the Dimensions." Panacea says. A teenager sort of /floats/ up to her. He has scruffy brown hair, cargo jeans, and a black t-shirt. And, of course, a sliver lance strapped to his back.
"This is the minor english god of victory." Panacea whispers into her ear.
"Hello, Lydia Nycro." says the teenager, his dark black eyes glistening.
"My name is Zethary. However, most call me Beowulf." says... Beowulf, apparently.
"You mean... From the tale Beowulf?" she asks. Beowulf smiles.
"I am your guide for awhile... Please, follow me." and Lydia followed, leaving Raina and Panacea wandering off in their own direction. Meanwhile, I gaze at the spheres. They each hold their own world. It was hard to beleive that all of the individual universes were packed into these tiny spheres. There were oceanic realms, realms of fire, realms of perpetual darkness(she couldn't help but feel bad for that). Eventually, the duo comes upon a unique one. This one doesn't seem to be a world. It seemed to be a ballroom in a castle. They both touch it. Everything spins until they suddenly stop, leaving them in the ballroom. She becomes embarrassed once she sees hundreds of eyes gazing at her with interest.
