ALPHA TO ZULU

ALPHA always comes first in every part of the world, but the adulation and applause is always followed with shouts of BRAVO. They mean well even though second best gets all the attention. Thank God for CHARLIE; it obliterates all the bad memories, washing it through DELTA. Gradually, all that is left is an ECHO; leaving despair in the past and creating lots of time to FOXTROT.
It is blissful getting up late in the afternoon to play GOLF in bed whilst admiring the view from the HOTEL room. It is not disappointing considering the economic status of INDIA, considering that the woman from last night; JULIET, lays close by. There is a lot of advantage to having a KILO. Once she had some, a lot of information came out, like she came from LIMA; the largest city in Peru. Surely a coincidence, MIKE the chemist claimed the substance was Peruvian’s finest. There was no way of confirming until another supply is delivered in NOVEMBER. Suddenly, she called out the name OSCAR and rolled over to her side. It had to be the name of her son because less than a minute later she said: go to PAPA. It was time to check out. The chick has a kid and probably married.
Next stop is QUEBEC and a name change to something simple like ROMEO. This is not too bad, on occasions, especially with women, they laugh at the pretentiousness of the name. Still, all the laughter opened up opportunities for conversation. For example, with a woman called SIERRA, it ended up at a late night bar where TANGO was the choice of dance. Strangely, everyone moved in UNIFORM as if choreographed. The barman, who introduced himself as VICTOR, said it was compulsory that everyone dance to the rhythm in similar fashion.
Several shots of WHISKEY later, I woke up semi-naked on a hospital bed and some unknown woman was pointing to a large XRAY sheet; counting the bones I have broken. Apparently, I called some guy a stupid YANKEE, but it turned out he was from South Africa and ZULU would have been an appropriate name.
