The Space Between / Calm After The Storm

The waters continually rise to meet the thunder, demanding it cease, before being thrown back onto the rocks. The space between devours light - now only intermittently seen in its most violent form of erratic flashes that tear through the vacuum and then disappear. The bird’s outstretched wings hold firm to the wind but there is no respite to the freeze and bluster hurled upon her. She dips in and out of focus, eyes darting to discover a sense of where the next flash will come from. She’s held momentarily still in the chaos. She shifts her angle and is flung back in a cyclone of ripped feathers and rain. The rocks break her back. They become alive with crimson for a second until the waters wash the bird back toward the storm. The rain and the waters continue to collide. Another flash. The space between is then lost as the clouds descend further and there is only water.
