POEM: Laid Bare In Declaration.

A vampire's ode to his human love.
I know I must not touch you, cannot extend my reach.
Hands in hog-tied desperation, secured behind my back.
I drink in the contours of your face, with eyes I dare to feast,
But my greedy heart thirsts from you, the sustenance it lacks.
I know I must not taste you, seek your sweet succulence,
Sink teeth into sensual flesh, tensile strength of fragrant skin.
I long for just a stolen bite, to breathe deeply of your scent,
Sieze the moment of indulgence, in the feast to end my famine.
It gets harder to maintain that space, as I drive myself insane,
Your scent, increasingly alluring, now impossible to ignore.
Fresh breath to clear my vision, before I craze for you again,
The pretence gets crueller every time, and still I beg for more.
I try to resist the dangerous lure, of haunts that you frequent,
Self preservation in weak defence, my own will to overcome,
Slain by just one look from you, I fight the consequence,
Of your attraction, a siren of temptation that draws me to succumb.
I am laid bare in declaration if I surrender to your snare,
My bravery is crumbling, shaken, my uncertainties unfold.
My heart will crack if, once revealed, you do not afford it care,
I steel myself to perpetual pain, and keep some measure of control.
