Of God and Mercy

Dear God in Heaven, I send You this prayer,
And I do so with a heart filled with pain
I try to understand, it just seems so unfair,
My tears of sorrow fall down like a heavy rain
God, its always been my little brother and me,
But the Angels came and took my brother away
And it feels like I'm adrift on a cold stormy sea,
With no sunlight to brighten my dreary day
I hear those around me saying he suffers no more,
And that now he is in a far and better place
Yet I find no comfort in the tales of a distant shore,
Where ever he is, I still can not see his face
So I ask of You Lord, and with all due respect,
Why is the life that You give us, so full of sorrow
It's no wonder that in time, Your love we all neglect,
When Your only promise is there's no promise of tomorrow
Lord, please forgive me, who am I to question You,
For I know that it's all a part of Your plan
But i just can't shake this grief, no matter what I do,
Please have mercy on this sad, broken man
Amen

Sad for your loss, and great
Sad for your loss, and great sense of bereavement. He is a God of comfort, and who can comfort and we can be honest in our puzzlements, but there are promises for today and tomorrow, and for eternity, though not always the immediate cessation of sorrow that we'd prefer. 'The LORD is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.' (Psalm 34:18). I pray he will give you the peace and companionship he purchased.

A heartfelt poem. It is
A heartfelt poem. It is horrible when family members die when you are of the same generation and it does not seem to make any sense. I am glad that Rhiannon is praying for you Elsie
