What sticks out with J.F.K. is his charisma. Charismatic leaders are both a plus and a minus. Hitler was a charismatic leader and he was a monster. Reagan was a charismatic leader, but was completely unable to understand the motives and actions of those underneathe him. Kennedy hired the best, but the best are often the most difficult to control. Kennedy hired the young and the best who were unable to synthesize the old and the new. There is no completely new. Everything has been thought of or known before. The young and optimistic can have the best intentions, but their methods can also be most brutal and machiavellian. Not all charismatic leaders are delegators. BUT charismatic leaders have a sexuality about them. I don't know if Hitler had sex slaves feeding his charisma, and there were certainly rumors about Reagan and sex parties, but no one can really verify such rumors. It is known that the Kennedy family had sex parties. Anyway, by all standards, Kennedy sexuality was too much. To get back to the subject of charisma, Kennedy had great charisma. He definitely tried to bring out the best in people with his charisma. People idolized Kennedy. I idolized Kennedy. But should people idolize a man? Should we idolize the Founding Fathers and not say anything bad about them? NO. We have no idols before God. Charismatic leaders also tend to divide the people. Those who follow the leader and those who are against the leader. Statistics about Kennedy differ, but about 60% of Americans said that they voted for Kennedy after his assassination. I believe it was less. The race was very close. Right now, there is a 90% approval rating for Kennedy. Kennedy was much hated. Even more so Robert Kennedy. They were especially hated in the South. They were hated by the Mandarins in the North. Kennedy's alliances were with Hollywood (New Money), the Irish Democratic political machine, and I suppose, the emerging American liberals. The Kennedys mobilized the liberation of America from the repressive WASP order. But what is liberation? Were the WASPS so terrible as the ruling party? The WASPS were the least imperialistic of all imperialistic parties. The British have had a very positive influence on Hong Kong. What happens to us when we have no anxiety of influence, no overhead. Do we do what we just want to do? Isn't that the worst thing for us? We are our own worst enemies. Anyway, Playboy clubs began to pop up. Hipsters, swingers, homosexuals, and others began to be more open than before. Now, I have no problems with hipsters and homosexuals, but just because society rejects them, they shouldn't just throw down all morality as hypocrisy. Many homosexuals have good morals and they should. Swingers, on the other hand, I just don't understand how any society can accept swingers. Hipsters turned into Hippies. Hippies didn't come into full bloom until a little bit after J.F.K.'s assassination. Hippyism, by the way, may have its roots in Existentialism. I remember John Paul Sartre talking about people who are like flowers. Memory deceives though. Baudelaire named a set of poems, "Flowers of Evil." Flower people can be evil too. Nature is not just good but evil also. Whether HIppyism was a form of decadence in American society is another question altogether. America has done a great job in avoiding decadence in culture.
