And Then There Was Light...

The sky gleamed black and silver
While the Moon sat upon her throne of stars.
And all who slept heavily awoke from?
From the darkened night that
Fell over the Earth.

Feet dug deep into the sand,
While hands nervously pulled sparse grass out of the ground.
The Ocean caressed the legs that rested
Along her coast.

Many eyes were directed up towards the stars
That swirled into the mix of the early
Morning airplanes and lightning bugs.
That dawn, humans yearned for the freedom
Of being a cloud, to drift over the peaceful waters.

Glancing over at the horizon,
There was a glimpse of a dolphin jumping
Up into the salty air
As the Sun peeked out
Over the few clouds that passed in front of him.

While the Sun rose up,
The Moon disappeared behind the awe-filled gazers.
The night dissolved into day.
And the darkness was gone…

And then there was light...

Just like that…
