How do we fix the US economy? 1

Everyone says that the US economy is recovering, but I want to know why this recovery does not seem to be helping me. Middle class income has gone down 20% in the Global World. It is not hard to see why. The rich people in the US and the not so rich U.S. government make the rich in other countries richer. These rich people are supposed to build their own economies and have a trickle down effect, but that does not happen.
There is one reasonable solution to the current problems in the US, and that is to raise the taxes on the rich. It should be a reasonable rate that'll make it hard for big businesses to lobby so much. I think the lobbying power of the rich rests on the fact that they pay so little in taxes, compared to other countries. Also, the power of the rich needs to be reduced in this world. It is a different world from the world of the Kennedies or the world of FDR. We live in a fragmented world, and the rich enjoy too much power for the amount of sacrifice they give to the country.
