I couldn't ask, you wouldn't say.

I was wondering,
What would you care, my love?
Brilliant thoughts or beautiful body?
I have no idea,
I couldn't ask, you wouldn't say.
I was pondering,
What would you mind, my love?
Carry a temper or bring a fight?
I have no idea,
I couldn't ask, you wouldn't say.
I was waiting,
What would you do, my love?
Keep silence or disappear?
I have no idea,
I couldn't ask, you wouldn't say.
I was dying,
What would you say, my love?
Thanks god or fuck yourself?
I have no idea,
I couldn't ask, you wouldn't say.

Ouch!
Prickly and painful in its emotions, but I like this for the way it conveys the harm we can do to each other through not talking.
Good one Basket Case.

I love the style of this.
I love the style of this. Reminds me of an old Irish call and response song.

I was moved by this work. I
I was moved by this work. I realised as I read it, it could have been me that the voice was speaking to. I wasn't always a great partner and caused hurt in the past. Now, work like this reminds me I should have always been more sensitive, caring and considerate. Your poem is beautiful and thought-provoking. Thank you. A well deserved 'cherry pick'
