Hark!
Hear ye the sound I make,
The words that tumble out.
I shan't repeat them e're again,
Give an ear to what I spout.
Hark I say! The end is nigh!
The words fall on empty ears.
I should have known, after all,
I have called for many years.
So I pack my bags, I sing a tune,
As I mosey down the way.
My pages close, my words and prose,
Are gone, the price is paid.
The people deaf, and blind, and dumb,
They shamble through their hours.
Till the prophecy shall scourge their homes,
And the child's milk runs sour.
The bones will rot, the lands will rise,
Against oppressors who do not see.
The vicious circle, comin' round,
As I dance so giddily.
I have seen it all, the old and new,
And warned them in my rhyme.
But it seems nobody has an ear,
To lend to Father Time.
So I sit back, and I watch the sand,
Trickle through the glass.
I see the worlds, the stars a-twirl,
And how they fade and pass.
It's happened once, and twice, and thrice,
I have seen it all before.
The people cry, the planet dies,
It's not the last time, to be sure.
