No more tears

”We'll never be apart.
We'll always be together right, William?”. ”Of course. You and I.
Forever.” ”I hear that my parents are talking about us going to
war” says Jessica. ”I've heard it as well. I don't want to go to
war. Why can't we all love each other? Like I love you Jessica. Why
can't people simply love?” Jessica is far to young to have ever
considered asking these questions. All she really think about is
basketball. Not only basketball but also horse riding. She loves
horse riding so much she never stop talking about it. “Horses love
people.”. “Humans are not horses, Jessica. Don't be silly”.
Jessica laughs knowing how she loves him teasing her. “No but
seriously...if a war breaks out and we might not find each other,
where are we going to meet?”. “Don't worry. Let me worry about
it. I'm the man in our relationship...well...the boy or whatever. I'm
in charge”. Jessica doesn't buy his attempt of being manly. “Let's
meet at the old school. The one that got closed down. Nobody is there
anyway. It should be safe”. “Do you think a nuclear bomb won't
destroy that old school, William? It's barely holding on even now
without anyone doing anything”. She was right. That school was
pretty old. It won't be able to stand for another 10 years or so.
“Now when I think about it. We wouldn't be safe anywhere when a
nuclear bomb hits. That's what my dad told me.” William can't
imagine a nuclear bomb falling on their city. It can't happened.
Unimaginable. The silence is pretty long. “William...I want to ask
you something”. “Ask me anything. We're a couple now. All couples
know everything there's to know about eachother.” “Do you believe
in god?”. William answers quickly, “Well of course. I do believe
in God. I know for a fact that he exist”. It is visible that
Jessica really likes that answer. Inside of her she feels that she
wouldn't mind growing old with this boy. There is nothing more
important than God in her mind. God and horse riding. And basketball,
one can't forget basketball.
......
“So you came.” For a
long time they haven't spoken to each other. He isn't the same person
he was many years ago. “I did.” answered William. “Why now? Why
did you come? You have ignored me for so many years!” she shouts.
“...” the long silence between them hasn't changed. “I've
changed.” “You don't say!” she screams. With a small whimper
with tears falling of her face “I loved you.” But she isn't sure
why she is crying. Would it be because of the history both of them
had together or was it the nuclear bomb? She has no idea, perhaps
it's both. “You drifted away. You say you loved me, but you drifted
away. I saw you becoming more popular. I saw you hanging out with
other people. You rarely visited me and you rarely talked to me.
That's what happens when one gets popular and the other one gets
bullied by everyone else”. William appear to be pretty calm about
the whole situation, but inside that now grown up young man...he is
far from calm. Nobody would be calm in a situation like this. “Let
me tell you something. You were the one drifting away. Not me. You
started to play those stupid video games.” She was right. Those
video games really separated himself from everyone, before the
bullying even started. William knows this but he won't and will never
admit it. He needs to lie to himself to be able to cope with it all.
“It doesn't matter now. We're going to die anyway. At least we have
many hours to live.” Jessica has accepted this fact as well. “Let's
go home to my place. Since all the food supply has been used in this
city, you got to be hungry”. Jessica and William
started to move away towards his home. It's not more than 10 minutes
from their current location. “So you left your parents to meet me
at that old school?” William wonders. “Yeah...”. To the left
they see a dead man with a gun in his hand. He shot himself while
sitting on the bench. They were used to seeing dead bodies lately.
The war has been terrible and what comes after is even worse. “Take
it, we might need it later on”. William gets on his knees to pick
the gun up. There's so much dust since a lot of buildings have been
destroyed. There's more dust on the ground than on William's dusty
pants. “1 bullet left”. Both of them were struck with silence
once again. It was a familiar silence they've shared together during
their childhood. They keep moving “I wish I could shoot all the
commies with this bullet. Forcing commies to stand in a long line and
shoot as many as I could with just one single bullet” William
changed the depressed atmosphere to desperation. William was not
always like this. “Look what they've done to our country. We should
have nuked them first. Everyone was against it, while I...I didn't
care about them. If the decision of our political leaders wanted them
dead; then I'd be all for it.” William clinches his fist. “But
they did decide on to not bombing thecommunists...does that make you
angry?” More dead bodies. His hand opens up slowly “Well...I did
support that decision too. I don't know what to think now. I just
want them all commies dead. That's all.”. “Maybe it was God's
will. I think it was. Our end has come”. “Do you still believe in
those fairy tails, Jessica? God is dead! Don't you get it?
God....there is no God. Not after everything I've seen” Jessica
steps back while William continues forward. “But I've seen the same
thing and I still believe. No...I don't believe. I know...just like
you said many years ago. I know God exists. This is what he wants!”.
William stops. “Let's agree to disagree. Here is my home. Let's get
inside.” There's no need to open the door, since there is none.
They pass through the hall up to his room. The minutes passes by and
nobody says anything. Jessica has so much to tell, while William does
not. “You've never been much of a talker...”. No response. “Let's
break the silence with some radio. They might have some doomsday
music on.” Not even a chuckle from William. “At 5 PM we have to
inform you all that our days are over. There was a big wish from
everyone for some music before it hits us, but our intern forgot to
fix it up. Enjoy your last hour in silence; and may God have mercy on
our souls.”
......
The last hour. Not much
sound has been made from any of them and both don't know how much
time they've got left. The fear and tears from Jessica are
overwhelming while William is trying to keep up his facade of
confidence. That's what he's been hearing all his life. If everything
goes bad, then he should still feel confident no matter what. Other
people can pick up when a man is scared. He wouldn't want to give a
last impression to Jessica that he is a sissy. The temperature is
getting colder and colder. Maybe the last minutes will be them
embracing together. That's what William is hoping. He has always been
looking at the popular Jessica from far away; and he won't stop being
attracted to her now. Maybe he is able to get a bit closer. He is
able to see that his hand isn't that far away from hers. The
reflection on the TV-screen shows that he is able to get a little bit
closer. His social skills has decreased from all of the time he has
been playing video games. A loner making an attempt on a woman,
that's like seeing a train crashing on a brick wall. His insecurity
is overwhelming. All he thinks about now is him and her. There is no
nuclear bomb. There is no doomsday. There is no more sadness...except
for her's. He is unmoved by her sobbing tears still flowing down like
a river. Jessica grabs his hand and holds him close harder than she
has ever hold him. She just wants comfort. Why would she still love
William? She loved him a long time ago. But does she still love him?
She did say “loved you” after all, not “love you”. That
perfume scent that is about to disappear from her isn't gone. Or
maybe it's his imagination. He doesn't know if it is her perfume or
if she actually smells this good. He has never smelled a woman this
close except for the time they were together those many years ago. He
gets reminded that his days are soon over when the wonderful female
smell gets mixed with the unflushed feces and urine. That toilet is a
reminder on reality. Nothing works anymore, except for that radio
William found on a road long away from his home. He notices the suit
that he was gong to use when graduating school. Maybe he should put
it on and make these last days a bit more...pretty. A big bright light is
seen, so bright as if they just died and saw heaven for a second. Jessica holds the gun and
gives it to William. He picks it up slowly and shoots himself in the
head. He falls down on the bed. He sees Jessica's body tear apart bit
by bit until none of them can see each other anymore.

Hi there, as promised I'm
Hi there, as promised I'm giving you feedback.
Firstly; the sentence that reads: She loves horse riding so much she never stop! Should be stops talking about it.
When a different person is talking, I would start a new line, as in:
"No but seriously...if a war breaks out and we might not find each other, where are we going to meet?"
"Don't worry, let me worry about it, I'm the man in our relationship...well...the boy or whatever, I'm in charge."
Also I would put commas in some places...I think there are too many fullstops.
You definitely need more new paragraphs as in:
"Let's go home to my place since all the food supply has been used in this city, you got to be hungry."
Jessica and William started to move away...
I think you have a good story line and enjoyed reading. Just hope I could help you.
Jenny.
