THE HITMAN
A Novel
by
Paul McCann
Authors Preface
Within the Irish struggle of the Irish people the price of justice came at the cost of a nation’s blood . The fight for freedom cannot be paid by compensation , cheap at any price . The debt left by previous generations has brought new strategies in an attempt to overthrow the powers that be .
One of the complexities that developed within the intelligence networks was confusion about who was working for who . Too many double agents were involved within the underground paramilitaries as well as the police and British army presence . There was a stalemate in proceedings because nobody could be trusted .As a result hitmen were paid to take out some of the obstacles in the way .
Consider how many lives have been sacrificed over centuries of conflict for freedom and the emancipation of a nation and its people . The exclamation of innocent men and women who have been imprisoned and left in isolation.
The provocation that brought retaliation . The execution’s and retributions handed out by those who became the judge and jury and feared law makers with a vocation for great expectations of their own salvation when their day will come .
Within the walls of prisons and behind the doors of arbitration communication was twisted and investigations were short listed for mayhem .
A slaughter house was built by those who exploited the rights of the people and the so called authorities turned a blind eye to it all .
You may say , well so what , who cares , but wait a moment because that is when you will find the hitman at your door .The evaluation of complacency can be a deadly thing when a nations blood has been spilt . Hitmen like Harry are paid to settle the score. The price of a life is more or less a petty price taken by the hitman who has become someone’s hired gun . No one can say no to the hitman when he comes, don’t think he won’t come knocking on your door .Don’t think you’re alone , when you hear that creak on the floor .Many of his deceased victims are now deep in the ground and no one has ever found where they are .
Although this story is fiction, I really wonder is it ?
This story is about Harry , a man who holds a very important job as the Chief Editor of a large newspaper but also works as a professional killer for anyone if the money is right .
Harry is a Hitman from Belfast . He is very well trained and very dangerous .
Harry has been paid by a paramilitary organization to kill three people in the UK .
The story will bring you inside the psychotic mind of the hitman who feels comfortable dealing our lead bullets in the head of those on his list . He is fired up with hatred and feels the heat of hell fire at his heels .
Sit back and read his story and as you do ask yourself have you at times become some ones judge jury or executioner ?
If so , say hello to the Hitman . He is just like you in the workplace a step away from hell waiting for a call . He has no regard for life at all or even for those who pay his fee . When Harry brings the hammer down no one picks up the pieces . He is an executioner , never judge him , he’s just doing his job. Right or wrong ,unless you walk in his shoes , don’t judge him .
He drives fast cars , never talks too long . He doesn't like relationships yet gets on well with most people he meets . Harry has no emotion , no conscience and no one he can trust , until one day he met Grace . He tried not to fall in love but all of his defences fell down and he was left in a relationship that could put an end to his days as The Hitman .

Interesting introduction to
Interesting introduction to the story. You seem to have a good understanding of what it takes to be a hitman for the paramilitaries, and how they came about. Your viewpoint should be enlightening.
