I had met her a few times at another one of our sites at work, but I had never worked with her, until five years ago when she came to work at the site I worked at, because the site she was at, closed-down.
She was stunning, very beautiful, every single strand of her hair was in place with hair spray, her make up was always on, unlike me, her lipstick never faded or came off. Everything she wore, suited her to the ground. I was in awe of her, and looked up to her, even though she was a lot younger than I.
Her name is Delisha, she was very religious, and so am I but our religions was different, we respected each other. I always felt happy when I was working with her. To me she was perfect, even though she had one major fault. She was Never early for work. It seem to be completely accepted by my Manager, who has worked with her on the other site. It was odd to us, for not other person, ever at work, arrived thirty-five minutes, forty-five minutes or even an hour late! But Delisha did, and no one battered an eye lid!
When we worked together, she would always buy a little treat for us to share, a delicious eggless cake or dark plain chocolates. It was always a fantastic atmosphere, she was one of the person I liked working with the most. I felt at ease and comfortable in her presence. She was a lovely, kind, generous, pure, soul. I would have loved her, as the sister I never had. She was That special.
The one day something happened. When I heard it, I simply could NOT believe it!
This lovely, sweet, pure, soul, it turned out, she was a massive thief! From work, she has stolen, thousands and thousands of pounds. I refused to believe it, but the Manager she told me herself.
She was there, when in the office with tears and telling the Policemen that, “I have stolen all that money.”
She was ordered to pay back what she had taken in one year, they did not ask her to pay back, all that she had taken the years before, which I thought was, sad and wrong and bad! All of that, like her always late, she had gotten away with.
Everybody at work was talking it about it, there was nothing else that we were talking about. It was a complete Shock to us all.
I and the others all said, “If we could think of just one person who would not be a thief it would be her.” How wrong we all were.
She was given seven days to repay the money back, or go to court! She paid it back, in the seven days. Before that there was speculations, she might even go to jail and be in the papers or on the news. She avoided all that.
She was sacked, she had to be, for no one would have spoke to her at work, if she came back. We were all told, “Not to communicate with her at all,” While the police did their investigations. Individually all of us was questioned about her. It was a sad affair.
I think once a thief, always a thief, on this scale. So, I think she is stealing, wherever she is working right now, and they do not know what she is Really like, with that sweet, innocent, beautiful face of hers and kind nature.
It just goes to show, you Can’t tell a book, by its cover! Trust no one.
