A hundred moments in autism - Alan Ritson comes to visit

Alan Ritson came to visit my house twice in all the years I knew him (hi Alan, if you’re reading this)
The first time I was in the front room watching a video recording (oh yes, I’m that old) of the National Theatre of Brent – the King Arthur episode.
Alan didn’t come to my house again for quite a few years. He was someone I saw in town, mainly down the pub, though I went round his house a few times.
But he visited a few years later, where I was in the front room watching a video recording (oh yes, I’m that old) of the National Theatre of Brent – the King Arthur episode.
Oh yes, when we have a favourite programme us autists do love to re-watch it and re-watch it time and again, often for years at a time. There is something calming about re-watching scenes you know so well, as many parents of autistic children have found to their cost.
Luckily for Alan I was too old for Thomas The Tank Engine by the time he met me.
