Over the years, we have all been made aware of different kinds of Poppies for different kinds of people and animals.
There is the poppy that is known around the world, for the first and second World Wars.
Then in recent years poppies have popped up for people of different races, to highlight, rightly so, their part in the wars.
Poppies have also been made to highlight, in the War of horses, elephants, donkeys, camels, mules, dogs and pigeons. They were used for transport, communication, and companionship.
Today I heard of yet another poppy, that has come onto the scene. The gay poppy.
“If you are gay, bi, trans or whatever, I don’t care. You have a pride month to celebrate who you are. Please don’t take over the one day a year where I get to remember my friends and all those that died for this country. Leave the poppy alone and have some respect.” Trevor Coult.
