The Uncertainty Of New Love

Does she carry a heavy heart
for someone from the past,
or the love of a rose bud in summer
springing the lightest of petals for me?
Will this love eat into my mind,
like maggots devouring a decaying carcass?
Is this the real deal,
or a dangerous drive to a road kill?
Is Julia a Judas,
a secret serpent, planning pain?
Will this love get the chop, snap?
On that burning cold day,
will it be in screams, shock and awe,
or will it be a whisper from a sniper,
a bullet to the heart?
I live with the suspense that is sucking,
killing me!
………….
From the open balcony
a heavenly breeze throws a kiss,
caressing our naked bodies.
I slowly wake sensing a warm summer’s morning.
I see a soft light falling,
bathing my adorable new love nestled next to me.
Julia’s nimble fingers
begin lightly to massage the nape of my neck,
she smiles then whispers…
“Don’t fret my daring,
our love need not be
as delicate as a butterfly,
that is in love,
but for one beautiful summer’s day.
Be true, be brave and our love will be as strong
as the mightiest of oaks,
able to master the most sinister of storms.
Be true, be brave and our
love will be a thing of beauty
lasting a lifetime.”
