ALONE IN THE WORLD

Do you feel you're alone in the world;
All else is shut out or you're trapped in?
That nobody is on your wavelength,
Or knows what you're thinking or feeling?

If there are some times when you feel trapped,
Or it seems that you're misunderstood,
And desperation cries out from you,
Don't you forget that it can be good.

For it means you're wishing to escape,
And seek some greater, expressive way.
It shows how there are some heartfelt things,
That a part of you has longed to say.

It means you have emotional depth,
It means you have a mind of your own,
It means that some folks relate to you,
And it means that you are not alone.
