ARE WE FALLING APART?

Are we falling apart;
Has the warmth become cool?
Are we unravelling,
Like a thrown ball of wool?

Are we falling apart;
Are things not how they were?
Are we melting away,
Like ice in hot water?

Are we falling apart;
Has the laughter dried up?
Are we breaking to bits,
Like a smashed china cup?

Are we falling apart?
I so hope we are not.
But I fear that we are,
And don't know how to stop.
