HE WAS AFTER ONE THING

He only fancied one thing.
His post wanted varnishing,
His sausage wanted cooking.

I will never forget it.

His mind focused on one thing.
His lamp wanted polishing,
His handle wanted holding.

I’ve no need to regret it.

He was after just one thing.
His rolling pin’s role ruled him.
His joystick wanted moving.

I’m thrilled he didn’t get it.
