One cold and crisp winter morning,
A Christmas card for Josh arrived.
The envelope's writing looked familiar.
So, he looked inside...
Josh,
Silent night.
Is it a holy night?
All may seem calm,
But all isn't right.
Santa isn't watching you,
Someone else is, instead.
Someone with unnerving thoughts,
Jingling around their head.
Thoughts involving you,
And me - and a knife.
Cut a long story short.
I hope you've enjoyed your life.
Do you hear what I hear?
Painful. Piercing to the ear.
I won't waste my words,
By wishing you, 'Happy New Year.'
Two minutes to go.
Where will you be?
You'll spend a little time;
Your last time, with me.
One minute and a half.
How do you feel?
Time's moving. Though soon,
You'll be so still.
Did you have a final drink?
Did you enjoy your last meal?
Christmastime. Party time.
And then, a time to kill.
Sixty seconds.
Feeling nervous?
Did you have,
A Merry Christmas?
Well now, it's gone.
And soon you'll be,
Another,
Distant memory.
Thirty seconds.
Nearly time.
Soon, the clock,
Will start to chime.
Your heart beats faster.
You sweat. And sweat.
Made a resolution,
Yet?
I wouldn't bother,
If I were you.
It's an idea,
You'll never do.
Ten seconds.
Doesn't time fly?
Get ready, to kiss,
Your life goodbye.
Five...
You're...
A...
Dead...
One.
Have a lovely Christmas, Josh.
Hope that you weren't scared to death!
Thought I'd give a festive thrill!
Lots of love,
Your girlfriend Beth.
