We couldn't go into his bedroom,
Without Yvonne being there.
It felt awkwardly off-putting,
Under Yvonne's steady stare.
In the living room and dining room,
Yvonne would be there too.
It felt anywhere you went,
Yvonne's eyes would be watching you.
In the bathroom, there she was,
By the bath and shower gel.
She was by the kitchen sink.
Yvonne was in the hall, as well.
I asked him why there had to be,
Yvonne in every place.
He said so he wouldn't forget,
Her exceptional face.
I felt kind of sorry for him,
But, how could we go on?
So I left him with his past love;
Framed in photos of Yvonne.
