End of line Gibraltar and the bloody BBC.

O.k, I promised myself that I was not going to spout on any more, I hate losing friends over political points but I am getting annoyed again, as always, by BBC Breakfast: the mouthpiece of this libertarian (though unelected) government, which, I have to say, is once again, making hideous propaganda: this time over Gibraltar.
What do I mean by propaganda? Here is a good definition of the word: "Propaganda is a form of communication aimed towards influencing the attitude of the community toward some cause or position by presenting only one side of an argument. Propaganda statements may be partly false and partly true. Propaganda is usually repeated and dispersed over a wide variety of media in order to create the chosen result in audience attitudes." (wiki)
Now, I have to say, I am guilty of spouting propaganda myself. (I pause for the shouts and spouts of "no" or the sarcastic laughter.) I have -on more than one occasion- slanted my posts in a bias against the unelected libertarian regime we have in the UK. I seldom agree with their position and therefore find myself ranting on for hours, getting my blood sugar all messed up and making myself quite ill. Being away in Norfolk for the first real Holiday we have had as a family, ever, really gave me a sense of perspective. Some things are not important -Tory's- for instance are not important, they hate me and I hate them, so what? I can't see my position changing; but apart from voting against them, in what will no doubt be a rigged election, is the only "real" thing I can do to change it. So, as I promised, no more ranting. This will be my last end of line post. (Hooray many cheer, go back to writing half finished poetry or rubbish stories again.)
For me, some things arereally vital. My lovely wife, the children we have, my lovely trinity, and my son. The family I have left after two years of death and the friends, some I have met, most on here, I have not, but still love deeply: those who keep me as sane as I can be, in a world semi-tipping on the brink of chaos.
But this is also ABC, for me its like facebook: its a place for the sharing of ideas, thoughts, feelings and -dare I say it without a kick in the face? opinions: and like facebook, ABC is not a news service, as such, and this is what divides it from say the BBC.
When watching the news, we should be receiving information, ergo, we should be given an unbiased representation of the facts and therefore be able to look for the whole argument. This means looking at both sides of the problem, as well as keeping we the people, informed as to why a situation is happening.
BBC Breakfast does not do this, and has not done so since the last election. From this position, we are not watching news from the curly sofa, but essentially propaganda, designed to shape the thoughts and feelings of the citizens of those who watch it.
In considering their position: BBC Breakfast has stated that it is not a news show, it considers itself "entertainment" product but has elements of news added to it. This is fine, if there was a BBC news service to watch when I get out of bed, but there isn't; all there is to see, is this silly woman with the dark hair, getting all moreish when a Tory appears; which is an insult in Irish apparently.
Apparently, according to the curly sofa, a Tory was insulted on twitter by a Spaniard,(well whats news about that? Tory's get insulted all the time, its part of their genetic makeup, it's part of the R.N.A strand and connects to their arrogance and ignorance gland, which makes up the part of their physiognomy that is missing: IE their soul. Oh gods, there I go again messing my blood sugar up and annoying people) and there are Spanish/ Gibraltar sovereignty issues, with Spanish trawlers cutting off the port, and making the Gibraltarian's wait to cross the Spanish border. Something that didn't happen in the 1980's when the three people were gunned down, for being IRA sympathisers. But that is another story.
Well, being a keen real news hound, I went to BBC news web page, and found no news items, so I went to BBC world news web page and again found no items, then I thought I'd try Breakfast (To find any news there apart from the state of the un-elected leaders knee injury is always hard to find, but I thought I'd try, after all, its fair that another side to this contentious issue be put forward.) but again I was disappointed. Perhaps my PC is slow, but I can't find any news about Gibraltar coming from the BBC at all. if any one does find any news could they please add them to the feed.
Also I have also added a link for the history of the Colony -yes that is what Gibraltar is: a colony of the UK- and has been so, since the treaty of Utrecht of 1713. 200 years... its an interesting link and is worth reading, so we can be informed.
Perhaps, this might lead to another spout of glorious flag waving, as we send our beloved men and women off, possibly in canoes off to fight the poor Spaniards over a bit of land that in all reality should belong to them; perhaps many might think I am being a tad cynical this morning, but hearing that silly woman on the breakfast sofa sound outraged at a Tory being insulted gets me every time.
Needless to say, I put Fifi and the flowertots on instead, now that's real news. FiFi is upset because Stingo has stolen the jam again, and Slugsy is crying over tulip... ahh, young love...
Here's the history of Gibraltar, and a well written article about propaganda Informed is forewarned, and forewarned is forearmed.
