-end of line- who do they serve?

Whom do politicians serve? The people that elect them, or the money men with influence that they seek advice from?
In whose interest do politicians serve? Themselves? or the people whom placed them in a position of trust, to do the most good for the most people in the country that they are representative of?
Then Who placed these politicians in a position of power in the first place?
It is us. It must be us, it has to be us; as the rules of democracy state that we the people have the right to choose whom we wish to take charge of our nation whether it is to ride us through a storm, where seas crack our ships apart or whether it it in calmer waters where the phrase "steady as she goes" can be heard being muttered from the captains table.
If it is not us, then democracy is a sham! and people like our leader, and his chancellor have no power at all: just the seems of it, for they were not elected, and do not represent any other interest other than their own; And that is not power. No, that is not even influence. That, is a joke played out upon the citizens of this country for far too long!
