Hi it's Andy,
you might not recall,
but we met once before.
in a a room very small
the blue smoke of pot
just hung from the ceiling
where my thoughts melted out
and hung in whispers of dreaming.
I remember that you never spoke
just sat there in the corner,
wearing a thick black jacket
your beautiful eyes downcast
and your shaven head covered
with a boys navy wollen cap.
We were so young then,
so naive and and full of seem.
We never spoke but your presence
filled my every moment
with the hope that one day
we might collide again.
and then we met a million miles apart,
you screamed at me that nothing compared,
and charged it straight toward my heart
Oh how I wish to christ that it could be true;
I wish I had spoken just one single word to you.
I watched you age from the covers of your albums,
I sense your presence with in every word faltered,
I watched you fight and fail to find love,
and all the while my hearts been torn apart.
But now I'm married and you are so far away,
I feel the loss and the bitter heartache
as you sing the queen of Denmark...
I hope you know that here you have a friend,
and if you come this way
I will never pretend
to be any one other than me,
so if you have a chance
or a mere flick of an opportunity
try an email or a call my way
perhaps we could meet up
on one just right perfect day?
