Never just a fling

If it was never supposed to be anything

why does it feel like a break up?

You came into my life

completely unexpected,

at first the feelings

go undetected,

but time passes

and the feeling emasses,

you can't be had,

well shouldn't be at least,

but it's not too long before we're between the sheets.

And you made me feel unbroken,

at a time where I felt shattered, 

you were the glue which stuck me back together.

But I screwed up, forgot where we came from,

forgot that through it at all we were friends,

and I lied, and tried

to hide things from you,

so your hate is due, and just,

because I broke that trust.

Why if this was never supposed to be anything,

does this feel like a break up?

Because this was never just a fling to me.
