Thank you

For something so important
the heart really is
a fragile thing,
it only takes
one person to break it,
shattered it into fragments,
fragments that are sharp
and stab you
when you try to
put yourself back together.

I let you into my life,
trusted and loved you
unconditionally,
sure at times
things got hard
and it didn't always show,
and I hurt you
my fair share of times,
but what you've done to me
not once but twice now,
has torn me down
to nothing more
than broken shell
of a man.

Yet I can't get angry,
I just forgive you
like nothing happened,
blame myself
and tell you
you've done no wrong,
when after what's gone on
I shouldn't,
not if I think logically
or methodically,
and I just ask myself why not.

Well the answer
is as simple as this,
you changed me
from what I was, to this,
the man I am today,
and for that I must say
