Time Travel

We spent a majority of the day drenched in each other; we lied on the couch, legs and arms intertwined. Every few moments you would stare intently at me, desperately wanting me to look your way so you could smother me in kisses. You mold yourself to my body…you wrap yourself around me and I feel so terribly at ease. The hours seem to race past us as we lie here…talking about rocks and time travel. I am at peace in your touch…alive in your laughter.
I want to get up; to be freed from the hold this couch has on us. You pull me back down into it and again we lie. We lie on this couch for hours again…watching the sun crash down behind the Golden Panda restaurant. The snow begins to fall but we mistake it for rain, watching it dance in the lamplight. We have lost the power to decipher time and space. You hold me and I feel like I am wanted, needed and desired. I am entranced by your ability to flatter me, your ability to make me bubble with laughter. We watch television so we can feel like we didn’t waste the day away, half-naked and entwined on your leather sofa.
Eventually, the night falls away and we retreat...withdrawing to your bedroom. You carry me like the child you must think I am. We dive into each other…saying and doing things that shatter the stillness of the night like glass.
