Golf - A Love Affair
He stood before her simple throne
And pondered how he should to address her
None possessed the power that she compelled
To the ends of the Earth it would draw him
As he stood astride her dimpled form,
He became bewitched and began his ritual dance
That was meant for her and her alone.
His undulating hips, his pouting lips
Quickened like a lovers coming storm.
Now, as the moment of her ascent to heaven
He glanced in hope toward her longed-for resting place
Raising his sabre aloft, he showed her the fated course to run.
Beyond the point of no return it hurtled to his love.
She would leave him soon, without a word
To lie alone without him
Hidden in a green and pleasant Wood.
His brutal, avenging sword had swung
The fateful parting was now at hand
He had intended his beloved a green and pleasant land,
But the path to that far 7th heaven
Hopelessly hooked by her master's hand.
To all golfing widows, everywhere.
