Just another day in the office

Thank God it's Friday. Off on our adventure to Devon tomorrow. I
have decided to start a travel diary and will start off with our long
weekend at the wedding. I've been to Devon many times before, but never
with Rug. We have also never done a long train journey together. Rug is
all sweet and na?ve on public transport. I have to show him what to do
and how to pay. He forgot to hold on on the bus and ended up falling on
top of me, almost smashing my glasses. I like looking after him. I'm
going to buy him a beer and he will relax and realise how much better
than sitting in the car it is. Let's hope all the trains work out and
come on time and everything. I also hope it is not too hot, otherwise
he will be missing his air-conditioning. It usually just makes it too
hot when you get out of the car, so you kind of end up just wanting to
stay in the car all day long.
No letter from the estate agent yet. If it doesn't come tomorrow my
faith in them will start to go downhill???. They showed me the pic on
their computer they are going to use in the window and to e-mail to
people. My lovely flat. It's quite photogenic you know? I've got to get
Rug to take some nice pics for my memories when I leave. Especially my
bathroom floor - piece by piece mosaic in autumnal colours - all done
with my fair hand. Rug's bathroom is like a hotel. My mum said it was
nicer than a hotel. It is all white and clean with gold and silver
sparkly taps and a super-powerful shower. I have got to start letting
go of my flat. I am still housework-obsessed. This morning I realised
people looking round will see personal items in my bins. I am now
religiously emptying bins as soon as they have more than one item in
them. I could be completely neurotic by the end of this. Who is going
to look in a bin anyway, for heaven's sake?
Prof A is hinting about weddings in Sri Lanka. Mr L wants a progress
report on my writing. I wonder what other strange and wonderful
requests and offers I will get before I leave this place. 15 more days
of work to go. I know I'm counting the days, but I will miss it
too.
