Love Bites - The Title

Love bites. My new set of stories with a love theme (though this
isn't one!). Reminiscent of those days at uni when I'd been away for
the weekend and showed up with red circles on my neck. I wanted to give
the impression that I was a real smooth operator with the women and had
been having wild weekends in Lincoln or Bangor. Yes, it was all very
immature and my own kids grew out of that sort of thing when they were
about twelve, but it was a long time ago...
Love bites. I must admit I've written a few stories with the
housewife/old lady market in mind. ("People's Friend", are you
listening?). Because that's where I've seen most short stories in
print. But what do I find lurking in the library? Shelves dripping with
bodily function erotica, bruising BDSM encounters, gay rumpy-pumpy,
vampire bloodlust and so on. I've even seen a whole catalogue of
stories about people who pretend to be horses and are forced to wear
bridles and pull carts around. I don't think I could write even one of
those stories. But you never know; it gives a whole new meaning to
being shafted. That's another thing, there's very little fun in most of
this kind of writing when, to me, it cries out for a light touch. So I
may yet delve into the dungeon. Ouch!
Love bites. We're an instant society with a short attention span.
Bite-size stories to sate the literary appetite - or should they leave
you hungry for more? It's up to you, there's coming up to 25,000
morsels of varying tastiness on this website; pick a few every day. No
room for that blockbuster novel? Well, neither have I!
Love bytes? Well, I do. Admittedly I get paid to do all the crappy
boring stuff with computers at the bank. But here is a real benefit of
technology, allowing aspiring authors to be read. Recently I missed out
on a promotion at work but gained some cherries here at my leisure.
Guess which I care about the most?
I'll be posting my first stories to this set over Christmas and New
Year, if I can find any I think are good enough! Thanks for
reading.
