For sale, one old life,

Thurs 12 Sept. Weird feeling. My leaving party is tomorrow. My
official one that is. But I do not actually leave for two weeks.
Everyone is giving their apologies and saying goodbye and looking
forward to wishing me well, and I'm still gonna be here!? for a little
while at least. What's even weirder is I'm on hols next week so
everyone will really think I've gone, and then I'm back here for a
week. Don't know if I'm coming or going, I really don't.
Newsflash - THE FLAT HAS SOLD! - well, have had a good offer that I'm
accepting provided that she can sell her place that has only just gone
onto the market. God, isn't life complicated? Hopefully it will all go
super-smoothly and I'll be in Rug's place before you know it.
Actually I've had lots of good news recently, and everyone is being
really nice at work because they know I am going. Moving on. It's a
nice feeling. I am ready for it now? gulp, well, I think so!
I am having a microwave for my leaving present. That'll be good. Rug
has this huge one that takes up half the kitchen, which isn't huge to
start with. I guess we'll use his other one in the new property, if we
ever get that far.
I packed two boxes of stuff last night, and a suitcase full of clothes.
Actually they are clothes I don't like and never wear and don't know
why I'm bothering to take them. I'm just thinking I might not get a job
and I might get desperate and have to wear my old clothes that I don't
like very much. It is more environmentally friendly to wear your old
clothes. I don't like this consumer society where we are constantly
throwing perfectly good things away. I am going to be miss eco-green
woman in the funny old clothes in my new life. I hope Rug will still
want to marry me!
My office is looking emptier and emptier. The surgeon teddy bear is
coming with me. I wonder where I'll put him in my new life. He's such a
cutie. Not as cute as Rug, of course.
