‘Clouds’

 

We all tend, to just take them for granted

though sometimes we do notice, they are there

silently moving, completely in tune with the shape of air

Yet there’s far more significance to be found within every cloud

Perhaps it’s far too subtle, or too obvious, for that part of the crowd

who choose to remain unable, to read which way the wind will blow

or see how unlike some of us, clouds always seem to know

where and how to be in life, in relation to, our nature’s natural flow

Cheers for that compliment. It was me doodling while thinking about something completely different. I was quite proud of my multitasking - Wow smiley I know women take that ability for granted, but hey from a guy's perspective it's as relevant as drinking a beer while you're talking!  laugh

Don't drink beer while you're talking - you will just dribble beer everywhere. It's a good doodle. I like doodling too.

Hi Rob,

when I was younger and able to lay out in the sun during the holidays, I would spend hours watching those clouds drifting across the sky. There's something dreamy about them...and yet they can also bring the knowledge of a storm coming when we're out walking in the countryside or at the coast.

You summed up that feeling so well in this poem.

Hi Jenny,

Thank you for your comments, but I must say laying in the sun reading the shapes of clouds is something to enjoy throughout one's whole life. I did that as a child too and it became a very relaxing habit in later life, perhaps because they do seem to have the ability to drift you back in time. You should take some time out between your numerous booksigning tours and have a picnic. Lay back and remember all those pencils that gave up the best lead of their lives to help make fabulously successful and then, forget them, move on, they did their job, some broke, some smudged and some simply refused to blend into the paper!  smiley  Take care up there...

Hi there love_writing,

Cheers for your encouraging words, I used that line because I saw this wee poem read to youngsters and so needed to be expressed in a way that they would easy relate to, while giving them something deeper to consider and tie into the balance of the poem. Love the idea that clouds are, in tune with the shape of the air.

 And speaking of which, there are way too many clouds over my head today, but then, on the other hand, maybe there aren't enough, if one believes each cloud has a silver lining.smiley
