The Ghost of Drowned Love Passed

Wow, look at you, you haven’t changed
still beautiful, as you’ve always been
really love your hair; you really suit that style
You can’t imagine how much I’ve missed you
I can’t believe how much my pulse seems to roar
how my arms cry out to comfort and embrace you
to touch your heart, to hold your love
to just enjoy your subtle fragrance
perhaps feel the power of your smile
And now it seems like I can walk again
I was so mesmerized by your eyes
and how I realised that I still loved you...
then I remembered crushing, revolving doors
and how they opened up my emotions still raw
just to smash and leave them shattered across the floor
Now, look at you, how much you’ve changed
beautiful, yet faded more than I could say
can’t imagine how much I’ve missed you
but my broken words and broken dreams
seem to haunt me, calling for you more and more
I can’t believe how much my pulse cries out
can’t believe these reoccurring, spinning doors
can’t believe that you left me; as we drifted towards the shore
I’ve never forgotten the pain I saw, within your eyes, within your fear
how they had flashed so brightly, whenever I was near
though I never knew what they really said
I wish that I’d listened long enough to hear
those few words and how important they must be
Now in this wet and broken state, I really can’t be sure
which one of us needed this love the most?
It’s lonely here without you; was it you or was it me
they found washed up, on the coast...
