To Let Go of All One Has Loved

Let me feel the clouds embrace my face, my smile
like old friends, they will welcome my return and celebrate
laugh and envelop with me in charged energy, in lightening storms
and know when my proudly shed tears rain down; for any duration, I will be missing you…
Let me be the earth you long to feel, falling from your grip
rich and fertile, holding onto life’s roots of growing forests
forever understanding natures balance, her history
timeless land always to be missed, like home, that place to stay…
Let me bathe in glassy waves of mighty oceans
where souls are caressed by endless tides
and so I may always, reach out to your horizon
with unique presence; deeply mysterious and loyally true…
Let me harness and deftly ride the wildest horses
found only in each great stable of all four winds
so I may gallop through time and my forests, unseen
across snowy peaks, or busy streets; so to always glance your face
and kiss you warmly with summer breezes, if you ever coldly turn away…
To touch the world, in one’s final act conveyed
when one must let go completely, of all one has loved
to become cast ashes from hands well known, in reflective silence
Nirvana bound; knowingly falling, into ones everlasting faith
to where hearts so freely given, may forever improve this mortal world
and thus always remain; fondly loved, remembered, immortalized with time…

Hi Rob, there's something
Hi Rob, there's something wild and free about this poem, it's as if the escape and adventure is there for the taking as the title says, you just have to let go. I adored that third stanza too. Again you've captivated my senses. Thank you for sharing this beauty. Jenny.
