Patience (Love Will Find You Again)

It’s always been special loving you and now more so, since you passed
Though the time we shared was not enough, for me, our love will last
and so hush my special love; I need you to listen to my heart
remember, with your head upon my chest, as you always lay
It’s been so very long, without the warmth of you here, it says
yet you still talk to me in my solitude, usually when quiet nights fall
and each day, it seems I expect you to arrive back, or just to call
telling me you’ll be home soon and not to worry my heart at all
but on so many days since, it’s snowed, yet no tracks can I find
It’s then I’ve tried to scream out loud, but your smile comes to mind
and so, I feel the beat of patience, slowing down the anguished heart
and the afterglow of your energy grows; I’ve always loved that part
it’s there that I look for you, among lost snowflakes, as they seek a place to rest
You see how subtly you made me smile again and now, I feel blessed
I know how much you’ve loved me and taught me to be strong
I never believed that you could, but you just knew, all the lyrics to my songs
and I missed the real time that we shared, though I know that life, is now gone
So hush my love, be silent snowflake, come now, rest upon my heart
you taught me to believe, to be proud; to always be true
you gave me the patience to survive; even though I never knew
When you were called, your angels never kept us far apart
you just kept right on walking through and talking to my heart
I’ve known you’ve been there to make sure, that I would be okay
and we both now that I truly needed that, just to find my way
all this time though, I still seek your warmth on winter days
Friends tell me it’s now time for me, to learn to live and play
for the future, to let you go and so to move on without you
pretty much the same way, you’ve always told me I should do
Patience, thank you for understanding all my lonely, simple needs
it was patience that helped me understand, each time this heart would bleed
So hush now my love, for when I leave, you will be patient too
then in time, then in the future, our love will be renewed
and with patience, you can rest in peace and know it’s true
that the love you gave and always showed me
will my love, come back to you
sometime within, your patience…

I agree with you, Rob.A
I agree with you, Rob.A friend died this month and being able to write a memorial for the funeral helped me to to channel some grief sensibly. As well as 'do' something when I felt incredibly useless. Writing has its uses! :-)
