Hope in the Air

She was plunged from the sky,
a winged figure,
into the depths of human sadness,
the mist of hope, sprang in bursts of colour,
from the derelict relict's,
vandalised, and abandoned.
She lay isolated,
with a single belief in her heart,
that for all mankind shortcomings,
good would come again,
rise like vapour,that amerces slowly,
after the rain subsides.
They would one day wake up,
step out of their materialistic imprisonment,
and seek the simple delights,
that have always been simmering under the surface,
washed away over time,
evaporated from the land of man.
Love, loyalty and kindness,will prosper,
life, will find it's way back into our arms,
where hope will spread its wings,
to the sky and bask in the glory and strength,
of the pure, naive heart,
the innocent, reborn.
And they will rise up in spiralling indignation,
against the vanity and malice,
which imprisoned and impoverished,
the hearts of man, which grew weak and weary,
to the promise of a easier world,
and free themselves as a snake sheds his skin.
