Book Ends

Here are some words -
my words for you
scurry across the page
on busy little legs
to toil amongst the diamonds;
climb the hill to the top
of meaning, and dance there
till the sands run through.
Watch me wave and weave
my way back down
to the centre of written chatter
that I'll miss when it's over.
The End

This somehow seems to speak
This somehow seems to speak of words being thoughtful (climibing the hill to meaning) while also being busy, and dancing, and satisfying, so hopefully among the diamonds of worthwhile helpful words (tongues and pens are such responsibility!) regards, Rhiannon

I love this poem. It's full
I love this poem. It's full of joy while at the same time tainted with sadness. How we often feel in life isn't it.

Hi Bee
Hi Bee
This is lovely - such a clever useage of words. I like the metaphor you present us with.

I thought this was a song!
I guess I was thinking of Elton John.
Certainly this could be put to music by someone cleverer than me.
I like the idea of words struggling to be understood. It definitely is a long climb. As you say, pens are such a responsibility. I used to have a boss who often advised me to be very careful when writing a memo or e-mail, because nobody interprets things in the same way. It's so easy for a compliment or a joke to turn into an insult in another's eye.
Interesting poem
