You never knew what I felt
your voice a tolling bell, death jam;
calling me out from the shadows
and every time I rose again and again.
Flashing like Rome mighty and eternal
but doomed to fall even lower down.
Elating me to new heights
where only Gods trod.
Sending out their threads of light
warmed within the palms of their hands.
Laughing as my light was exhausted by his smile,
the dark curves of my body, a sacrifice to you, Mother Rome.
I burn in flames with gold coins placed across my eyelids and water baptising me, starting at my thighs.
